SOUTH-RUSSIAN STATE POLYTECHNICAL UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER M.I. PLATOVA

The South-Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI) named after M.I. Platova - the first higher educational institution, opened in the South of Russia in 1907. The buildings of the university complex are an architectural monument of federal significance.

As part of the University: 10 faculties - energy; electromechanical; technological; building; mechanical; Agroindustrial; Information technology and management; Innovation and production organization; Geology, mining and oil and gas business; Open and distance learning; 5 institutes - fundamental engineering education; Physical education and sports; Military Education; International education; Additional education; 2 colleges, 17 research laboratories, 4 centers for collective use. The university conducts postgraduate training in 20 areas of training (98 specialties of scientists). There are 7 dissertational councils at the SSRPU (NPI).

To implement the plans for the commercialization of scientific developments, the technological engineering company Polytech and 16 small innovative enterprises have been established.

With the purpose of training highly qualified staff, harmoniously combining engineering and managerial abilities, the University has a Higher School of Management, on the basis of which master's preparation of students is carried out.

About 500 representatives of 30 foreign countries are studying at the University. YURPU (NPI) is a member of consortia of the European program Erasmus +. Scientific and technical cooperation is carried out with leading technical universities in Germany, China, Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, CIS countries.

Since 1993, the university has a preparatory department for foreign citizens, where students are taught Russian. The program is designed for 680 study hours and assumes that by the end of the course the foreign student has a sufficient language base for studying at the university. As part of the program to learn Russian, foreign students begin acquaintance with mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering graphics, the basics of computer science, as well as geography, history, economy and culture of Russia.

Scientific and educational activities are conducted in the areas related to actively developing and strategically important industries, which is confirmed by close cooperation with a number of the largest domestic and foreign companies and corporations.

The complex of buildings of the SRSTU (NPI) includes: 6 buildings, sports facilities (stadium, swimming pool, tennis court, gym, track and field athletics arena), educational and library building, a concert hall for 700 seats.

Students are provided with comfortable conditions for study, living, sports and medical services. At the service of students is the largest technical library in the south of Russia, the House of Scientists and Students, where creative studios, a sports complex with a swimming pool, a cultural leisure center, a student nutrition center, and health facilities operate. The campus, located next to the university campus, allows you to accommodate more than 4,000 people in a comfortable environment.
